Family Glamping Near the Grand Canyon: What to Know Before You Book
Why Highland Is a Hit for Families
When planning a trip to the Grand Canyon with kids, finding the right place to stay can make all the difference. Hotels are often crowded, campgrounds can feel chaotic, and remote cabins are rarely kid-friendly. If you’re looking for something different, something that balances nature, comfort, and space, Highland Grand Canyon offers the perfect family glamping experience.
Located just four miles from the South Rim, Highland is a family friendly glamping retreat surrounded by forest, fresh air, and stargazing skies. Whether you’re visiting with toddlers, teens, or grandparents, our setup is designed to make your Grand Canyon getaway relaxing and memorable.
Why Highland Works for Families
Each of our safari tents includes:
A king-size bed for grown-up comfort
Cots + sleeping bags (available in the Pinyon and Ponderosa tents) for adventurers under 16
Lanterns, lights, and soft decor to make everyone feel at home
Private porches for bedtime stories under the stars
Our bathrooms are just steps away (no long, cold hikes in the dark) and we have potable water, hot showers, and everything you need to keep the kids clean(ish) and happy.
What Makes It a Family Friendly Glamping Experience
Open forest space for supervised exploration
Safe, quiet location off the main road
Communal firepit for s’mores and socializing
Easy access to beginner Grand Canyon hikes like the Rim Trail and Trail of Time
Close to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and geology museum
Kids love the novelty of staying in a safari tent, while parents appreciate the thoughtful setup and comfortable touches. It’s the best of both worlds: nature immersion without roughing it.
